Registration of Death
Report death at the nearest Police Station.
Register death at the Malaysian Mission. A copy of the police report is
required. Addresses of Malaysian Missions are available in this website
under the topic Malaysia's Missions Worldwide.

Repatriation of Remains
Relative/next of kin in Malaysia report death at the
Consular Division, Ministry of Foreign Affairs at the following address :

- Name of the deceased
- Passport and Identification Card Number

- Cause of death
The Consular Division, with the assistance of the respective Malaysian Mission
abroad will investigate the death. Relative/next of kin of the deceased will
need to decide the place of burial, abroad or in Malaysia.
Burial in Malaysia
- The Consular Division, with the assistance of the respective
Malaysian
Mission abroad will obtain the estimated cost of the repatriation
which will
have to deposited by the relative/next of kin to the Consular Division.
A
receipt will be issued.
- The respective Mission will carry out the repatriation
process
- The Consular Division will notify the family on the flight details for the
arrival
of the remains.
Burial Abroad
- The Consular Division will instruct the
respective Mission to coordinate the
burial process.
- All cost incurred will have to be borned by the relative/next of kin which
have
to paid to the Consular Division. A receipt will be issued.
- The Consular the Division will submit the following documents to the relative
/
next of kin :
- Acknowledgment letter from the respective Mission
- Certificate of health
- Certificate of Death
- Certificate of Burial
- Death Report
- Copy of Passport / Identification Card (original document will be
submitted directly to the respective departments
in Malaysia)
